Which driver one of Newgarden, Power, Rossi, Pagenaud, and Dixon has the best chance of winning the 2019 Indy 500?
The last Indy Racing League event took place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 11. Simon Pagenaud won the race. Pagenaud’s been in excellent shape. He’s finished in the Top 10 in 5 of the past 6 occasions.
Pagenaud deserves a long look as a driver that may win on Sunday. However, he might not be the best choice. The best pick among the favorites may be Scott Dixon.
Dixon was on fire in the past 6 races. He ended thirteenth at the Circuit of Americas. But beyond that finish, he scored a second in St. Petersburg on March 10. In addition, he finished second in Alabama on April 7 and second in Indianapolis on May 11. The next place finish in Long Beach on April 14 was also great.
In 2018, Dixon finished third at the Indianapolis 500 supporting Will Power and Ed Carpenter. He’s to win this year, but he’s expected. In the odds, he is the favorite to back.
Which driver between +1000 and +2000 chances can win the race Sunday?
Ed Carpenter doesn’t offer much better chances than the favorites at +1100. There is a lot to like about his chances, however. He finished second at the 2018 Indianapolis 500. Not only that, but he is the only owner/driver at the Indy Racing League.
He almost won the rod over Pagenaud for Sunday’s race. Carpenter should put his very best foot forward on May 26. He’s definitely worth considering at the chances.
Can there be a driver involving +2500 and +5000 chances that can win the 2019 Indy 500?
Felix Rosenqvist provides +5000 odds to win the Indianapolis 500. The chances aren’t a true manifestation of his opportunities. Rosenqvist finished eighth in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 11. Also, but he has 4 Top 10 finishes at the past 5 Indy Car events. He deserves a long look.
Conor Daly at +5000 also deserves mentioning. Daly will begin Sunday’s race eleventh. Who knows if Daly gets to the race straight away? He could be in a terrific striking place to pull off the upset.
