It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be much more fun…and much less stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes that they did. They have made choices a couple of years back that is probably cost them thousandsof thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, because of lost business from poor PR.
We’ll be sharing some cases of those with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our customers — and believe that now they are a safe and legit gaming company — we believe you have a right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What exactly did BetOnline do to create a lot of people mad?
We think a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices spans the spectrum of shady behavior, ranging from telling likes to withholding cash to having shoddy security.
There are loads of examples we could show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several instances, which you can see for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they lied about what network it was on. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were actually about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about the way they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked off.
Afterwards reports (in BetOnline) suggested that things were nice and mended, and that BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie also if we were on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad approach to advertise a new product. It doesn’t instill confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of clients. The reasoning was almost always because the client allegedly cheated, although no proof was provided from BetOnline (from the cases we have read).
1 case that caught our attention was of an expert who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him jobless (for proof).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about how they were on the road, and the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories because the documents were too large.
(Anybody who knows anything about internet poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files into your computer — understands what a crock that is. And, why wouldn’t you send proof someone cheated in case you have nothing to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the participant get his cash back. His last update mentions being alleviated about how it worked out for him personally , but also stated the same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this example the player did do anything wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table at which no one else would be hurt. He did it so his friend could have an additional $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from the same house at the moment. Most sites would not even let two individuals from the same IP address sit down at the same table but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most sites would’ve captured it much sooner), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is the way they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that incident.
Forum members indicated that most legit websites would not have allowed two individuals from the exact same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, the moment they suspected chip dumping had happened, the participant’s account would come under review. He would never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now he did, BetOnline desired it. Buttechnically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this participant’s activities (which was no one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline thinks they should be able to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we wish to share is a case where a BetOnline rep outed the way the staff knew their customer’s passwords and login amounts. You can see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a fantastic point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into account and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a good answer, only a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What is even more absurd is how these instances are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer variety of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you busy.
Subsequently BetOnline Does Something Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to cover their clients.
Thent a couple of months after a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is dedicated for SportsBetting.ag winners paid at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “However, as there’s a sizeable backlog of pending payouts, they need to be run through various fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. Once the backlog is complete, clients will experience radically improved payouts thanks in part to updated payment options, such as same day options.”
Nobody knows exactly how much BetOnline had to make in past payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for over $1.5 million in obligations that wasn’t reported from the previous management. I think it would be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid off it.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we’ve had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the last year or so.
There are a few complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we will address in the future in our review when it is logical. Nonetheless, it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what does this mean to you? Should you forget and forgive? Are they safe enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We will be honest — there’s no way we would have played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d known or heard about any of those reports previously. No one in their right mind would. You’d be safer light your cash on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be taken lightly.
However, since buying SportsBetting.ag and adding new management to manage operations, things have improved radically. So much so that we’re comfortable now recommending them to our subscribers.
And it’s not only us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you’ll see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers first condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing there, simply to have a change of heart once they saw how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review under.
But, as best as we can tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they offer to players. We feel safe using accounts .
It’s up to you to decide if you are feeling the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their past from the way, let us jump into what’s important now — and that’s what BetOnline offers concerning banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid choice of banking options. However, you’ll want to keep in mind that what’s available to you will be determined by where you live.
Let’s start with their deposit options.
Listed below are the payment procedures BetOnline takes and also the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some penalties over $300. Money Orders
$10/no Maximum Neteller
$10/no max Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
$1,000/no maximum Check
Check $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The biggest complaint about deposits are their 6 percent fees for credit and debit cards. They are one of the only sites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those other ones, charging 4.9%.
When you are ready to cash out your winnings, then you can use:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Can take 12-36 hours. Prices will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — Can take around ten days. Fees will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you pick, this can require 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Takes up to 36 hours. Just 3 requests allowed per week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within one day. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Requires around 36 hours and will cost you $20. Only 3 payouts allowed a week.
What I do not like is how you are going to pay a commission for every banking option. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you’ll cover a 2% fee.
That said, I’ve seen firsthand testimonials from clients who say they’ve received payments within 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they are from the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their website, but I have seen reports which suggest BetOnline gives you a $50 charge monthly if you place in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the entire fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: What Would You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. That means you can bet on sports, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular solution, is that their sportsbook. So let’s begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and financing.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most well-known sports in america. Included in these are:
You can also wager on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Football One option they’ve added lately is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how quickly that business is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the biggest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, too, even though it appears like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still trying to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to enlarge their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They’re offering marginally better pricing to the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell whether that’s going to be true, nor will it matter whether they never expand this part of the sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on them.
They offer live gambling too. These options vary continuously, of course, to coincide with what games or events are going on. When I last looked they had lines for soccer, baseball and tennis. You might even keep track of a couple of games concurrently using their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
One thing they are known for are the higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. You can also raise your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll find in their own racebook and financials section combined. A few of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — make a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you will see a listing of races on their webpage. Each record tells you how many spacious races there are, which should you click on it will expand to reveal the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you are unfamiliar with their site or horse betting, a fantastic section to look through is that their racebook information tab in their navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their track limits. This lets you know that the maximum you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Find out how much you will make if your wager (s) win.Their rules and the types of bets you may make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t know what a word or term means).
It is a fantastic section if you are new to horse gambling.
And that’s about it. This segment is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers too, though nowhere near the quality or quantity that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of these offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily without a min quantity or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the very first time in the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to bet on will depend on your wager kind.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is among the most popular options for Americans. They’re a part of the Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in overall traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software upgrade. Previously they had several complaints regarding the quality of their applications. This included complaints about blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But after their update we’ve seen hints they may have a few of the greatest applications in the US market.
From worst to best in one update? That may be pushing it. But based on the pictures I’ve seen, their software DOES look better.
However, there are still a few places BetOnline can enhance.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have any options for cellular players, which we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. They also only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be nice to see more game options.
Overall, though, it is wonderful to see they are making advancements and are becoming more aggressive with what other top tier US poker sites provide.
Speaking of that, some of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay out this to you 5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees more than $90,000 in tournament prize pools each and every weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and money race challenges, also.
Plus it’s not just a”bonus,” however, the matches here must be softer due to the US traffic and also the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables ought to be easier here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find lots of game options ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from both Rival Gambling and BetSoft applications, each of which are known for producing topnotch games. Here’s the way their matches breakdown:

If you run into a problem or have a question, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following choices:
LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
1 thing to point out here are the accounts I have seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
1 example came from a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his experience, which was one of the worst I’ve heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software is not high quality, I expected them to shine at client services. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, during their live chat support (and I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review)I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life so far.
Following the live chat session began, I needed to wait for a few minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not just entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username too. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username into a live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I explained that I don’t want to input that information into a chat area and, what’s more, the question demands no such information since it had been about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten more minutes for”assistance” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thank you for waiting. I will be with you in just a minute…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline says they offer excellent customer services. He also states that your best bet is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This implies to us that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they manage customer support…an
