The Primetime Emmy Awards, occurring every September, are a celebration of quality television programming throughout the globe. The ceremony, carefully followed by TV fanatics, provides a stage upon which actors are known for their work from the preceding year. Awards ceremony betting is as popular as ever, and the 2018 variant of this Emmys, hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che of Saturday Night Live, is going to be a hot topic at top online specials bookmakers.
It’s hard to discern how this year’s winners will collapse. Unlike the Oscars, that honours film, the Emmys often has winners on account of the cyclical, season-based nature of TV shows. Some shows that were once Emmy staples such as Modern Family have been swept aside to allow for a new course to enter, however, there are a number of old favourites, like Game of Thrones, re-entering the market.
It has often been said that the simplest way to win an Emmy would be to get an Emmy, but will that sentiment ring true in 2018?
Let us take a look at the Emmys gambling odds for each respective major class, provided by Betway.
Outstanding Comedy Series:
Atlanta – 4/7
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel – 5/4
Barry – 14/1
GLOW – 33/1
Black-ish – 33/1
Curb Your Enthusiasm – 33/1
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – 33/1
Silicon Valley – 50/1
Our Tip: It’s Tough to see Atlanta not taking home the Emmy for Best Comedy. Season Two of Donald Glover’s hit show was excellent, along with other TV comedies at 2018 paled in comparison. The exception of Veep and Modern Family this year will definitely help Atlanta’s chances and although short, the 4/7 listed at Betway for Atlanta to take home the bacon might prove profitable at higher bets.
