John Oxx worried over Skitter Scatter prep

John Oxx admits he would have preferred longer to have ready Skitter Scatter for her crack at the Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes at Leopardstown following week.
When her trainer chose to relinquish his licence and join forces with all the multiple Classic-winning 30, A Group One-winning juvenile for Patrick Prendergast, the filly transferred to John Oxx.
She only made her comeback and led into Newmarket for its 1000 Guineas however picked up an accident weekly.
While Oxx was delighted with her rush the 16-day difference between races is a slight concern.
“She is in great form and she came from her latest race in great shape,” said Oxx.
“She is a fairly simple filly to train and also has a nice attitude to her work. She is very willing, maybe not an over-exuberant employee, but she’s enough and she’s generous.
“We’ve been pleased with her because her race. We were thrilled to receive her .
“She ran a good race, so she didn’t win, which I would have enjoyed her to perform, but it was ideal really since she had a nice race. She got tired and awakened in the last furlong.
“We’re lucky to be able to get her there and make to conduct her good earth. It could happen to be then what could we have done and a bog – could we have run her or not.
“We got off with that. It’s just 16 days into the Matron we hope that she is able to advance to conduct another race and I would have favored but it is what it is.
“It hasn’t been ideal, but we need to be glad that she has been in great shape all along and has kept going the perfect way.”
