Jurgen Klopp’s group win the Premier League this year and eventually to finish their title-drought has been backed by liverpool legend John Barnes.
The Premier League has never been raised by liverpool, with their last name coming in the First Division in 1990.
The side of klopp failed to win the Champions League last season and Barnes believes asserting their first trophy under the German will lead to success.
He told Sky Sports News:”Last year, as well as Liverpool were playing directly to the end, I felt that Manchester City would acquire the league.
“This season I think Liverpool will win the jackpot. They have this determination, this assurance, this drive that they’ve won a trophy.
“What Klopp has instilled to the team is no excuses. So when teams give themselves excuses – they come or since players are injured – points will drop since they can drop points.
“Klopp won’t and he’s instilled that to the group and the fans. The players know, there are no excuses to not carry out with, irrespective of whether they are playing. That is Liverpool’s strength”
Barnes, who spent ten years at Anfieldplayed the on-field dispute involving Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in Burnley last weekend.
Mane responded after his strike-partner didn’t pass him the ballbut Barnes said:”The most significant thing is there’s no hangover from it, and with Liverpool there will not be.
“He is individual and Jurgen Klopp explained himself’these things happen’, but there’ll not be a spill-over out of that.
“Ideally you do not need that to occur as you don’t want to create disharmony, but that is not going to be an issue.”
