Mansfield picked up their first home win of their League Two campaign following a 2-0 success over rock-bottom Scunthorpe.
The home side were away in their best but secured the win from Matt Preston and also Danny Rose.
The people, who are yet to acquire an away point this year, started with Abo Eisa shooting just over. Seven minutes after the exact same player was booked to attempt to win a penalty.
After Jordan Clarke gave the ball away scunthorpe goalkeeper Rory Watson beat a Nicky Maynard campaign in the 22nd minute away.
Preston slotted home CJ Hamilton’s cross at the trunk to provide Mansfield the lead nine minutes.
Jamie Proctor nearly levelled four minutes before the period after he fired inches wide by a free-kick. Later making the most of indecision involving Watson along with Andy Butler, But, Rose doubled the lead nine minutes into the second half.
Proctor headed off goal in the 74th minute as Iron failed to get back into the game.
