NASCAR: 2019 GEICO 500 Odds & Betting Preview

Auto Racing News and Betting Previews |

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, with the GEICO 500 place for Sunday, using the race to start at 1:00pm Eastern time and the broadcast on MRN. This is going to be the 100th race held in Talladega — and also the very first race as the 1980s where no restrictor plates will be in use to limit speeds. Rather, a device known as a tapered spacer is going to be used, with the same function in mind. The accession of aerodynamic modifications like a taller spoiler means that there are a lot of variables entering the race that make it less predictable. Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski have combined for five wins in the previous seven Talladega races, and Aric Almirola, generally a dark horse on the likelihood list, returns as the defending champion. We have your NASCAR sports betting odds and suggestions for your wagering card.

Brad Keselowski is your preferred here but offers more value than typical NASCAR favorites perform. He’s won the GEICO 500 three times, most recently in the 2016 edition, and he has five checkered flags in his profession in the Talladega Superspeedway while hurrying with the Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series. In his last nine races here, he has five top-seven finishes. He won here after from the NASCAR Xfinity Series. With that”track” record (no pun intended), I am putting him on my card.
Kurt Busch was sniffing round the checkered flag all season long, with six top-10 finishes in his past eight starts complete. He has mentioned in remarks to the press that he wants his car this season. He was the runner-up in 2018, and in his past three GEICO 500 starts, his average finish was 5.3. In his last nine races in the Talladega Superspeedway, he has six top-10 finishes. He is one that you should consider adding to your list of wagers.
Martin Truex Jr won in Richmond, and he is among those drivers that will win in streaks. This past yearhe won three out of six races, and he shut out the 2017 effort with four victories in his last ten starts overall. He hasn’t won in the Talladega Superspeedway with the Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series, but he did win three occasions as part of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, so that he does understand exactly what it takes to win here. He is a bit down the likelihood sheet, so I’m going to take advantage of the value.
Jimmie Johnson still has not won in a long, long time, but he’s starting to creep closer and closer. He arrived in Texas, and he’s four top-12 finishes in his past six starts complete. He’s won the GEICO 500 twice in his profession, and he has four top-10 finishes in his last eight starts at this particular race. NASCAR came to the Talladega Superspeedway twice a year ago, and his average finish for eighth place. Could he rise up as a dark horse? He could.
Joey Logano could already have five successes piled up this year when matters had shaken out differently at the conclusion of several recent races. He’s in with two successive top-three finishes, and he’s got a win here and two more at the other NASCAR race at the Talladega Superspeedway. In his past seven races he has five top-five endings, and he has three wins here in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Together with this victory, wagering on him is smart
